Today is our first official rest day. We moved very slowly this morning and had a wonderful breakfast – again supplied by Liz.
We rode into San Jose and visited San Jose BMW. Well, let’s just say they were not so friendly so we decided to change our oil ourselves. Who needs to spend $90 on an oil change?
Arriving at Liz’s home we were greeted by a big banner welcoming us to California. On the banner was a map and we started to trace our steps over the last week. That exercise caused an immediate rush to the beer fridge.
As I type this, the boys are in the swimming pool and the laundry is well underway. Man, there were some smelly cloths on those bikes.
Tomorrow we start heading east.

We have yet to see a photo of Brad and Eric!! And the one Brad sent to me from the Grand Canyon looks fake! If I go to CLT airport parking lot will I find the "support" vehicle and find out they flew to Hollywood for pics?! Just kidding, mostly jealous....
Enjoy your day of r and r. You all (or should I say Ya'll) deserve it.
Hugs,
Tammy and Jake
Congratulations ! You did it ! Pierre, I love your opening greeting to your sister about the size of the country. It will go into the family records.

You look a very happy band on the beach and I envy y'all. Obviously a hard ride but a very worthwhile one. Hope the return journey is cooler. AJH
OMG - Tammy said "Ya'll"!!! Ok, it was in parentheses, but it count's!
Glad to hear that the clothes are being washed. Tell Liz to call in all her warantees on her washer and dryer as soon as ya'll leave town. Her machines will NEVER be the same!
Ride/Drive safe and say hi to those guys stuck in the rocks as you take their picture!
Can't wait to 'party' with you on 7/28!
Cathy
That is one hell of a ride. 534 miles average a day is more than |I could do in a car. Have a safe and wonderful ride back.

Half way home !!! If you take the northern route home it could be a lot cooler -- but a lot hairrier! Those mountains can be a bitch and it sometimes snows in July!! Get a picture of the tean sitting on the continental divide -- and pick up some small stones for my collection ... safe journey home, guys --- tell Brad I'm proud of him, -- dreams cxan come true!!

Have been enjoying the daily updates of this trip. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately) you seem to have run into far fewer problems than Fonda & Hooper did 40 years ago. Hope you enjoyed the rest - you certainly deserve it after the heat you had to deal with. Have a fun and safe trip east.
Glad all of you could have a day of rest! We are so proud of all of you and what you have accomplished so far!
Brad, we hope you had a nice Birthday!
We love you, man!!!!
Eric, We love you and miss you!
To the 4 of you, Take care and stay safe!

Having you hear was GREAT! It was really cool because i got to see you in on the east coast...and then i got to see you off in the West coast! I will soon be greeting you once again on the east coast, but i will NOT be sending you off again!
You didn't put anything that was said during dinner on the R&R day! haha. that might be a good thing. :)
