It has been a couple of days since I sat down and wrote something for the blog. How do I know? Well I got a couple of text messages asking for updates. It is nice to know that people are enjoying the adventure with us.
The ride from Kennebuckport was going smoothly until about 40 miles to go. Suddenly the check engine light came on. Really! Anyway, we found this great truck repair center and they hooked Mufasa up to the computer and declared it was some random miss-fire and that we should should continue on our way. "Have a great vacation....no charge". As has been my experience in the past, when traveling you meet some great people, I'll have to make sure I return the hospitality if I ever have the opportunity.
Yesterday was a slow day as we had to do some chores around the RV. Laundry to do, a little maintenance and we had watched Pretty Women til 1:00 in the morning so it took time for the coffee to work.
Lunch was inside Acadia National Park. Lobster Bisque for Cathy and Lobster Nicoise for me. Yes, we are eating well. The restaurant is known for serving Popovers - very similar to a Yorkshire Pudding. Well, they make a lot and do not serve all of them so they rename the old ones "Pupovers". Ilsa, and all the other dogs on the lawn, were served Pupovers for lunch. It was a lot of fun to see the staff running around refilling the dogs water bowls and serving Pupovers.
After lunch we drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point along the North Atlantic coast. I have posted the pictures and it is truly a wonderful view. Some people drive up early to see the sunrise as it is the first place in the US to see the sun. Cathy and I discussed it but when we considered we would need to be up around 4:00 in the morning, we decided to go to bed and trust the sun wound come up in the morning.
Not sure what the plans are for the day. Tomorrow we turn south for three days in Cape Code.
Have a great weekend everyone.
