The best Father's Day gift avaible - my bike keys!
I left the house at 7:00 and took the shortest route to the Mountains. Arriving at the base of the climb around 8:30 I went down a gear and took off. Some days you have, and some you struggle. Today I was on. The curves just seemed to fall away as the bike went from side to side. I hit every gear just right. There is a little less chrome on the foot pegs but when you have a Gold Wing rubbing you just laugh in your helmet and keep going. I am not sure what is more funny, the sound of the pegs rubbing or the look of horror on the people's faces as I go flying by.
Once on the Blue Ridge I decided to back it down and enjoy the view. Stopped a couple of spots along the way and then headed off the mountain to Pete's cabin. A quick hello, a laugh and then back on the bike.
290 miles from beginning to end. Just a great day.
