Been a long time since I posted but it has been a very busy time. Some of the adventures include:
1. Application sent in for the 2009 Iron Butt Rally (1,000 per day for 11 days) – this is done by drawing with only about 200 allowed to enter and considerably less finishing.
2. Numerous short runs over the winter.
3. Backrest installed getting for the next big run.
4. First email received about the 2008 Tax Day Ride
…and last night a possible location for the 2008 ride. I plan on taking a week this year and doing a short run. I have two possible destinations – Colorado or Vermont. Yes, very different directions but it would be fun to do the Rockies but I have heard Vermont has some great riding and would allow me to return to Canada where I had such a great time in 2007. Vermont would be a much easier ride and planning a week may be the way to go. It would allow me to stay off the highways and really tour my way up and back. The more I think about it, the more I like this idea – maybe this is the ‘no highway tour’.
As I was typing this blog entry and looking at a map on another screen Algoquin Provincial Park court my eye. Maybe Adirondack Park needs a second look. Time to start pulling the maps out.
