Speed Week Planning
The 2011 ride planning has started. On Friday, 3/25 over a glass of wine and a cigar, Pete and I started to plan this year’s ride to Utah. We had some other interested parties over. Dave and Cliff ‘may’ sign up for it. We talked a lot about the ride to California and what type of bikes you need, type of gear and talked more thank anyone should about gas tanks.
The Salt Flats are 2,100 miles from Charlotte. With taking just a week of vacation, we will have to ride hard. We have made reservations as soon as the window opened in January. Speed Week is a very popular time on the Salt Flat with all sorts of people trying to break land speed records. For a better description, anyone reading this should watch the movie “The Worlds Fastest Indian”. Anyway, we will have to average over 500 miles per day. Sounds like a lot but …well it is a lot.
Anyway, Dave and Cliff are going to think about it. Pete is working on getting his back into shape, and I am researching what additional spotlights I should add to the bike.
Wild Hogs 2….
