Day 1 & 2

Finally set off at 8:45am yesterday. Light drizzle but nothing too bad. Rode around the hills and mountains arriving at Two Wheel Motorcycle campground in Suches, GA about 4pm. Look up "rustic" in the dictionary and you'll get an idea of what it was like! We spent some time rewiring Pete's satellite radio installation and will need to get a new antennae tomorrow! By 6pm tents were up, drinks in hand and a bonfire started so we could grill steaks. Life is good!

After a restful night, Pete cooked a Full English breakfast this morning. You gotta love that guy! Timing was perfect for coming to Two Wheels. After the bulk of the bikes checked out Sunday, the camp staff cleaned the bathrooms and showers; even left small bottles of soap, shampoo, etc. Just like the Hilton (yeah!). Leaving the campsite, we rode beautiful back roads heading north to NC. About 10 miles north of Suches a bee entered Pete's helmet, found it too tight and flew down his shirt. It got mad and stung Pete's belly. Had to stop and lather him up with Benadryl. Back on the road, we stopped again at 1:30 to take care of matters and check voice mail. Found out the office wanted me on a conference call at 3pm and if we calculated right, we should make Asheville by then. Before getting to Asheville, we stopped to buy some beer and found info for Blue Ridge Morotcycle Campground. We figured that looked good and decided to make that our destination (http://www.blueridgemotorcyclecamp.com/). At 2:58 we rolled into the campground and I joined the conference call right on time! It's almost 5pm now, the beer is cooling in the stream at the foot of our tents and it drinks time! I'll send some pictures when I can spend more time on the computer. Connections are hit and miss here in the mountains. All in all, it was another great day!
