Saturday 8/19

Miles = About 250

I left the hotel late. Something about that clean room and TV. Eventually I took the stuff down to the bike and started the process of loading. Sure enough, here comes a local.

“How far you riding today?”

“About 250”

“Nuts – I am going to drive 100 miles”. He walked away shaking his head.

I did the normal pre-flight inspection, tires, indicators, no pool of something underneath, and noticed my fog lights where not on. Emmmm, all part of the experience. I took the battery cover off and found that one of the fuses was loose. Bingo – all systems firing.

I jumped on the highway and was doing my thing when the traffic backed up for as far as the eye could see. I turned on the CB and heard the truckers yelling about the drivers. The traffic was usual for this area – how do these people do this every day? Anyway the truckers told me I had two exits to go and it would clear up.

Once I got past the mess I decided I had had enough for the day. I found a camp site 60 miles away that turned out to be a great place. Small, deep in the Berkshires, this place was wonderful. My neighbors came over and invited me to have a drink with them as soon as I had my tent up and they had plenty of food if I needed any.

Cooked pasta and a delicious meat source, my usual Gin and Tonic and was in bed by 8:30 PM.
Another fun day
